How to play Seldom
- You get a prompt like “Name a dog breed”.
- Type one answer before the 25-second timer runs out.
- If it's an accepted answer, it gets a rarity tier. Rarer answers score more.
- Seven prompts make a round. Play the shared Daily round, or keep going in Unlimited.
Rarity tiers
| Tier | Points | Example for “Name a fruit” |
|---|---|---|
| Common | 10 | apple, banana |
| Uncommon | 25 | mango, pomegranate |
| Rare | 50 | lychee, quince |
| Epic | 75 | durian, feijoa |
| Legendary | 100 | jabuticaba, cupuaçu |
Tips for scoring high
- Skip the first answer that pops into your head — everyone else thought of it too.
- Think regional: foods, animals and places from outside your own country are usually rarer.
- Spelling doesn't have to be perfect; close misspellings of longer words still count.
- A wrong or unlisted answer scores zero, so don't get so obscure you make one up.
FAQ
Is Seldom free? Is there a limit on rounds?
It's completely free with no account. The Daily round is once per day; Unlimited mode has no limit.
How is rarity decided?
Every prompt has a hand-curated list of accepted answers, sorted into five tiers by how likely people are to think of them. We keep adding answers and prompts.
My answer was correct but “not on our list”. Why?
The lists are big but not complete. Unlisted answers score zero for now — we review common misses and add them.
Is Seldom the same as Krillion?
No. Seldom is an independent game with its own prompts and scoring. If you enjoy Krillion's rare-answer style, see our guide to Krillion Unlimited and similar games.
